WASHINGTON (AP) ? The White House is trying to tamp down concern over a new intelligence report showing North Korea could arm a ballistic missile with a nuclear warhead.
White House spokesman Jay Carney says Pyongyang has not demonstrated the capability to launch such a nuclear armed missile. He says it "is not simple" to take that step.
However, Carney says North Korea continues to express a desire to seek nuclear weapons capabilities. That, he says, is a "matter of concern" for the United States.
The Defense Intelligence Agency says in a newly revealed report that it has "moderate confidence" that North Korea knows how to deliver a nuclear weapon on a ballistic missile.
