Mission Viejo?s tennis team showed talent, spirit at Southern California Sectionals

Mission Viejo?s women?s tennis team is still abuzz after recently qualifying for the semi-finals in the Indian Wells Sectional Playoffs.

The United States Tennis Association 4.0 level team of Jackie Amdor, Terry Ward, Beth Ng, Denise Corona, Kimber O?Shea and Gloria Medina were met with competitive play in the first match against LA Mountain Gate that led to a third set tiebreaker.? The team advanced to the afternoon match against Temecula Valley before heading to the players? final match the next day against Inland Empire, which resulted in another tension-filled third set tiebreaker.?

Although the team did not advance to the finals, the players displayed talent and spirit and worked hard during their season in Mission Viejo. The Mission Viejo team was one of 15 that qualified to travel to Indian Wells.?
